To serve the unique rural LGBQTIA+ community that has developed in and around Cannon and DeKalb counties, we have formed the SMDC Community Land Trust. Incorporating visions created during community meetings of years past, we aim to preserve affordability of homes and land, expand and diversify community ownership of land, and incorporate environmental protections offered in the Conservation Easement.
 
The SMDC Community Land Trust is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We currently have five board members and approximately 20 general members, working together on a consensus basis.
